Teaching Writing Workshop
Starting in fall 2011, the grade-level workshop series will be available. Here’s a sneak peek at what will be available:
Grade-level story workshops. Takes the students through the Story Invention Game to the next level as they start their individual stories in the classroom with Annie Banannie. Emphasis is on developing story structure.
Full writing workshops. Digs deeper into story structure, adding more action, scenes, character traits, consequences, etc. Students will work towards transforming a draft of a simple story into a more advanced tale.
Subject-specific workshops. Sentence structure, individual parts of speech, character development, descriptive writing, topic sentences, closing sentences, subject/verb relationship, grammar, creative thinking, improvisation. More subjects will be offered as they are suggested by the teachers.
